Secondary Sub School Rooms 19 - 27

Bill Vasilevski - Secondary Sub School Leader

Hello Everyone,

I hope you're all enjoying the warmer weather as we move closer towards the end of the school year! It’s been fantastic to witness the excitement building around our secondary classes, with so many engaging programs taking place. A special highlight recently was our Farm Animal Incursion, where students had the opportunity to get hands-on experience with a variety of animals which was an enriching and fun way to tie into their current studies. In addition to this, there are many other exciting initiatives underway across the school. The students are embracing learning opportunities that are not only educational but also encourage creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

I would also like to remind families that Student Support Group (SSG) meetings will be held in the next few weeks. These meetings are an important opportunity for parents, caregivers, and teachers to discuss each student's progress, strengths, and areas for further growth. We encourage all families to take part, as it’s a chance to collaborate and ensure the best possible outcomes for every student.

Here are some key dates to remember:

  • Group 1 Camp (Leaving 25/11/24 Back on the 27/11/24)
  • Group 2 Camp (Leaving 04/12/24 Back on the 06/12/24)
  • Year 12 Graduation – Friday 6th December
  • Curriculum Day – 13th December – Student free day
  • Transition to 2025 Classrooms: In Week 11, students will meet their 2025 classroom teams and have an opportunity to work with their new peers and staff.

As always, if you have any concerns or need further information, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the school.

Regards,

Bill Vasilevski

ROOM 19

Room 19 has had a busy start to the term. This Term, students were busy participating in the VPC Fundraiser: Scones with jam and cream and completing their short film. The Fundraiser was a great success, we sold about 130 scones. Students are busy editing and promoting their short film, “Home-Less: On the Verge” and will be screened on 2nd Dec in the Yaluk building, we will have 3 shows of the film for each sub-school. We are busy creating a trailer for the film.  Students are excited to go to Luna Park and Bowling. Most of our students are graduating this year and will be attending the graduation camp at Campaspe. Good luck to all the graduates.

ROOM 20

Term 4 has been an eventful and thrilling time for the students in Room 20, filled with a range of activities. Highlights include Sticks & Stones performance, the Animal Farm experience, SEDA Sports, Halloween dress-up and trick-or-treating, as well as excursions to fun destinations like GoClimb, Werribee Zoo and the All Abilities Play Space. And there are still a couple more exciting events on the horizon!

The students have continued to grow and learn in all subject areas, as well as within themselves and their personal and social skills. They have thoroughly enjoyed learning all things Geography this term and are enjoying the new challenges in mathematics within multiplication. Room 20 absolutely loves cooking and we try to provide them with further opportunities to develop their independent life skills. What a fantastic year it has been for everyone!
