Dear Parents and Families,
Welcome to this week's edition of the JSA Newsletter!
At Jacana School for Autism, we believe in creating a positive, supportive environment where every child can thrive, whilst developing their resilience and independence. Our dedicated teachers and staff are here to guide, encourage, and inspire students to reach their full potential. Together, with your support and partnership, we aim to make Term 4 a memorable and successful one for all of our students.

In Term 4, we look forward to collaborating with you, our amazing parents and carers, to discuss your child's progress towards their IEP goals as well as ensure that they have the tools and confidence they need to succeed. Please look out for letters coming home soon to confirm your day/time preferences as well as whether you would prefer in person/phone/Webex.

As always, we encourage open communication. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or ideas throughout the year. We value your involvement and want to make sure that we’re all working together to create the best possible experience for your child.
Transition to 2025 Classrooms – Week 11: In Week 11, students will participate in transition week, meeting their 2025 teachers and classmates to prepare for a smooth transition into their new classes.
Curriculum Day –13th December: This will be a student-free day so please make arrangements accordingly.
Last Day of School – 20th December: Students finish at 1:00 pm on the final day.
We are quickly approaching the end of the school year, and the warmer weather is upon us. Please ensure that your child arrives at school with sunscreen already applied and a hat.
Warm regards
Michelle
It has been a very exciting term so far. Students have enjoyed an excursion to Crocs and many incursions, including Brainstorm Productions and Aussie Animal Farms. Other highlights included dressing up for Halloween and Trick or Treating.
Room 8 students are learning about time in Maths and are continuing to work on phonics in English. Kitchen/Garden, Art and PE are always enthusiastically enjoyed. As we begin to wind down for the year, we are celebrating our successes and enjoying the friendships we have made throughout the year.
