In 2F, we have been practicing how to write persuasive texts during our writing lessons. We convinced Miss Farrelly that Australia is the best country in the world! Some of our reasons included its unique native animals, homegrown fruit, sunny weather and what really won Miss Farrelly over—the incredible sports events held here!
Faith Life
In Faith Life, we have been exploring historic buildings in Melbourne. We compared old and new photos of Flinders Street Station, Parliament House and St. Kilda Road and looked at what has changed and what has remained the same. We also studied the Westgate Bridge, creating a timeline to highlight its key dates and events.
In Maths, we have been focusing on the four key operations. We explored the connections between multiplication and division, as well as addition and subtraction. We were fascinated to discover that reading an addition equation backward creates a subtraction equation. For example, 9 + 7 = 16 can be reversed to 16 - 7 = 9!
In 2F, we always start with concrete materials to ensure we fully understand the concepts. Here are some photos of us using concrete materials to demonstrate division equations.
Italian Day
We are still getting over the shock and excitement of meeting Mr. Oopy on Italian Day! We had such a great day for this year's Carnivale Themed Italian Day. We want to give a special mention to Mrs. Sirianni for organising all the exciting activities.
