Abbey Caldwell is heading to Paris 2024!

DSC alumni and 2019 College Captain - Abbey Caldwell - has been selected to represent Australia at the 2024 Olympics in Paris in the Women's 800m athletics!

We have been following Abbey's athletic career over the years and she just continues to grow in strength and determination as a middle-distance runner. In 2022, the DSC community and the world witnessed Abbey run the race of her life and achieve a Bronze medal in the Womens 1500m Final at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK. Throughout 2023, Abbey has been on fire, smashing her personal bests and claiming impressive victories in national competitions and world cross country championships. Her hard work, perseverance, and undeniable talent paid off when she achieved her season-best and Olympic Games qualifying time of 1:59.01 in the 800m event at the Australian National Track and Field Championship in Adelaide.

Now, with less than 70 days to go until the Games and with some excellent form under the belt, Caldwell is currently in full training in preparation for her Olympic debut in Paris in July - August (source: warrandytediary.com.au).

We couldn't be prouder of Abbey and we all can't wait to cheer her on as she represents Australia in Paris. Go Abbey! Allez Australia!
