From the Principal
I am pleased to say that Term 2 has started very well, and our school calendar is quickly filling up with many different extracurricular activities designed to engage and enrich our students' learning experiences. From incursions to excursions, specialist programs with whole school events, we're committed to nurturing talents, fostering teamwork, and sparking curiosity at every turn!
Education Week is coming up in Week 5 and our annual Twilight School is scheduled to be an exciting day for our students on Thursday 16th May. Please put this date in your calendars. Students will be commencing school at 12.30pm and finishing at 7.00pm.
More information about Twilight School will be sent home via Sentral next week.
A reminder that Curriculum Day is on Friday 17th May (the day after Twilight School) which means students do not come to school on this day as staff will be engaged in professional learning focused on the implementation of the Disability Inclusion Reform and the Berry Street Education Model.
We are working on improving our attendance this term, so please help us by developing a good sleep routine at home so children come to school on time and ready to learn. It's important ALL students are at school every day unless they are genuinely unwell. If your child is absent, please ensure all absences are explained via Sentral or via a phone call to the office. If you are having concerns or need support with home routines, please contact the school and we can help you or connect you to free services to support you.
This Monday, we were honoured to host a group from Keysborough Secondary College, who came to experience first-hand the innovative practices and vibrant atmosphere of our educational community. Their visit provided a fantastic opportunity for knowledge exchange and collaboration as we shared insights into our environmental education program and sustainable garden. And the excitement doesn't end there! This Friday, we eagerly anticipate the arrival of Noble Park Primary School. We're thrilled to showcase our dedication to sustainability and inspire others to embrace eco-conscious practices.
These visits not only affirm our commitment to excellence but also serve as a testament to the impact of our initiatives on a broader educational landscape. We look forward to fostering meaningful connections, sparking inspiration, and continuing to lead by example. Thank you to Mr Hunter and our Environmental Education Leaders for their commitment and dedication to their work.
REMINDER:
Tomorrow is ANZAC DAY which is a Public Holiday, and the school will be closed.
School will be open on Friday as normal.
