Science News
Science is back! And we are in a new location – you will find us in the downstairs classroom alongside the music room. Students will have a Science lesson each Thursday this year. This term I am excited to be teaching our students Physics! We will be exploring movement and force as well as energy forms including light, sound, heat and electricity.
This week we began with an introduction into Science, its importance and how we use it every day! We also commenced our Physics topic with time engaging in a range of activities to explore different physics concepts - good fun!
Each lesson, students will be engaged in learning Science theory through a range of mediums including explicit teaching, reading, media, games and activities as well as hands on activities including experiments and tasks, both independent and small group focused. Each class will strive to earn stars for their class jar, leading to a fun activity as a class reward!
During Term Two we will explore Earth and Space Science. Term Three will see us focus on Biology, specifically exploring plants and animals. Finally, in Term Four, we will be exploring Chemistry where we will finish the year with a bang!
Looking forward to a fun and learning filled year teaching our curious, enthusiastic students in the Science classroom!
