Welcome Back to the 2025 School Year

Welcome back to all students, parents, guardians and staff, especially those new students and parents who have joined the St Mary’s School community this year. 

It has been wonderful to see and hear the school filled with the sounds of happy students. Our teachers have been working very hard over the past weeks to ensure a very organised and smooth start to the year; I think they have done a wonderful job.

The beginning of the school year provides a great opportunity for staff, students and families to begin to build positive relationships and get to know each other well. This is a major focus across the school in the first few weeks, as it builds the strong foundation for learning, personal and social growth and achievement. To help establish these relationships, we have had meet the families and teachers conferences this week. 

We are also excited to invite all our school families to our Welcome BBQ on Thursday the 13th of Feb from 5.30pm – 7:00pm in the asphalt area of the school near the tuckshop. This would be a wonderful opportunity for our parents to meet each other and teachers across the school.

Assemblies

As we venture into 2025, we are excited to continue our tradition of Friday afternoon assemblies, which are wonderful celebrations of the learning happening within our school. These gatherings are not only about showcasing achievements but also about fostering connections among us all – students, families, and the wider community.

During assemblies, we take the opportunity to celebrate students who demonstrate our school values through our school awards and throughout the year, each class will have the chance to showcase their learning at a scheduled assembly.

Pick up 

A gentle reminder to all families about end-of-day pick-up procedures. Students finish at 3:15 pm, and there are two options for collection:

✅ Drive-By Pick-Up – Please use the allocated bays for a smooth and safe pick-up.

✅ Park and Pick-Up – If you choose to park, please ensure you walk to collect your child. 

For everyone’s safety, please cross the road safely with your child—

❌ Do not ask your child to cross the road alone – Please walk with them. 

❌ Do not park in the pick-up bays – These are for drive-by pick-up only.
