Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)

PBL Lessons

At our school, we’re all about learning the GREAT way to handle situations and show positive behavior. We use PBL lessons (Positive Behavior Learning) to teach our students the expectations and routines that help make our school a great place for everyone!

Every week, our PBL lessons are like a treasure map, carefully designed using behavior data from our PBL meetings! This way, we make sure our students get just what they need to grow, shine, and succeed!

Last week’s adventure? Routines! ✨ Students dove into the exciting world of school routines, learning how following them can make each day run smoothly. From lining up to knowing what to do when they need help, they’re becoming experts at making every part of their school day awesome!

We can’t wait to see all the great things our students will continue to learn and practice!

We love seeing our students grow into problem-solvers and team players! Keep up the awesome work, everyone!

Respectful Relationships Education

Building Respectful Relationships at GSPS 🌟

At GSPS, we believe in the power of Respectful Relationships! Our RESPECT Program is all about giving students the tools they need to grow emotionally and socially, focusing on building and maintaining respectful connections—with others and with themselves. 💬🤝

In the program, students explore important topics like proactive communication, making and keeping friends, the magic of inclusion and belonging, discovering their personal strengths, and how to handle conflict in a positive way. It’s all about creating a kind and supportive community where everyone thrives!

Student Council

Student Council: Empowering Student Voice! 🎤🎉

At GSPS, our Student Council plays a huge role in making our school even better! This group of students, Class Captains and Student Leaders, gets to have a say in all sorts of exciting things, from choosing new play equipment and picking music for around the school, to coming up with fun disco dress-up themes and organizing free dress days! 🎶👗

But that’s not all! The Student Council also helps raise money for special causes through various fundraising activities, making a real impact on our school and wider community. They meet twice a term to share ideas and make sure every voice is heard.

It’s all part of creating a GREAT school, where students have the chance to make a difference!

Photography House Competition: Let Your Creativity Shine! 📸✨

The Photography House Competition is kicking off in Week 5 and will run through to Week 8. This is a fantastic opportunity for all our students to get creative! 📷 Parents and students will also be encouraged to enter their snaps into the Goondiwindi Show Photography Competition! 🎉

We can't wait to see the amazing talent and unique perspectives our students will showcase. It’s a wonderful chance to explore creativity, learn new skills, and capture the world through their eyes. 🌟

So, which House will take the win this year? Let’s see those photos! 📸🏆

When they walk in the door...

Here are some fun and engaging questions you can ask your child as they walk in the door to start their day:

These questions can help spark some excitement, reflection and create connection.

What was one thing that you tried hard at today?

Was there a moment you felt proud of yourself today?

When did you use your inner coach today?

What was the most interesting thing about today?

What made you laugh?
