In 2025, the Catholic Church will celebrate a special Jubilee Year with the theme Pilgrims of Hope. A Jubilee is a sacred time of renewal, reflection, and spiritual growth, traditionally held every 25 years. It is a time to strengthen our faith, embrace God’s mercy, and walk together as a community of believers.
Pope Francis has invited us to prepare for this Jubilee by becoming Pilgrims of Hope, saying:"Hope is the virtue that sets our heart dreaming, that enlarges our spirit and makes us capable of seeing the beauty of heaven and earth. Hope is the door that opens us to the future."
This theme calls us to be people of resilience, courage, and love—qualities that are deeply embedded in the legacy of St Patrick’s. As a school community, we stand on the foundation of our school motto: Strength & Kindliness. This motto has guided generations of students to live with faith and determination, always choosing kindness even in times of challenge. It reminds us that true strength comes not from power or status but from our ability to uplift others, to seek justice, and to offer compassion.
In this Jubilee Year, Pilgrims of Hope are called to walk forward with both strength and kindliness—trusting in God’s plan, standing firm in our beliefs, and sharing His love with those around us. As a school, we continue this mission by encouraging one another, supporting those in need, and striving for growth in our learning and faith.
This Jubilee is a reminder that we are never alone on our journey. Together, as a community of faith, we walk forward in hope—grounded in strength, guided by kindness, and inspired by the Gospel.

As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening our Catholic school identity, we invite parents to participate in the Enhancing Catholic School Identity (ECSI) survey. Your feedback is invaluable in understanding how our school community views its Catholic identity today and how we can shape it for the future.
The survey takes approximately 55 minutes to complete and must be submitted by Friday, March 14th. Your responses are completely anonymous and will help guide future planning at St Patrick’s.
Survey Access Details:
We appreciate your time and participation in this important initiative. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact Katie Rasmussen either at school or email - krasmussen@sptongala.catholic.edu.au
Thank you for your support!
We understand that finding time to complete the survey can be challenging, so we invite you to join us for a relaxed afternoon tea at school, where you can complete the survey in a friendly and fun environment. While you enjoy some delicious food and a chat, the kids can have a play!
We will provide devices to complete the survey, along with assistance logging in and understanding the questions if needed. This is a great opportunity to connect with other parents while helping us shape the future of our school community.
Please contact Katie Rasmussen if you would like to attend this session - krasmussen@sptongala.catholic.edu.a
We hope to see you there!

Catholic Social Teaching (CST) is rooted in Scripture, formed by the wisdom of Church leaders, and influenced by grassroots movements. It is our moral compass, guiding us on how to live out our faith in the world.
The CST principles which inspire our work are:
Our faith calls us to love God and to love our neighbours in every situation, especially our sisters and brothers living in poverty. Following in the footsteps of Christ, we hope to make present in our unjust and broken world, the justice, love and peace of God.
