EDUCATION

Year 9 Outdoor Education and Year 10 Environmental Studies

As a part of Outdoor Education and Environmental Studies, students participate in a series of excursions in our local community.

These activities are designed to challenge students and develop resilience, teamwork and communication as well as their awareness of the environment and community around them.

Year 12 Environmental Science

On Monday 17th February our Year 12 Environmental Science students visited the Werribee Open Range Zoo.

They participates in a program by Zoo's Victoria where that applied the skills that field scientists use to measure biodiversity within an ecosystem. The students were given the opportunity to collect primary data, discuss the human impact threatening native species and gain insight into real life conservation efforts.

This hands-on experience aligned with Unit 3, Area of study 1, enhancing both their scientific knowledge and practical skills!

Year 12 VCE-VM Business Excursion - Ethical Entrepreneurs Project

On Friday 7th March, our Year 12 VCE Vocational Major students embarked on an insightful excursion as part of their Respectful and Ethical Entrepreneurs project.

The visit provided an opportunity for students to engage with a local business, gaining firsthand experience in ethical and sustainable business practices.

Local business owners, Kate and Andrew, warmly welcomed us into their new Retreat Yourself shopfront, office space and warehouse in Torquay.

Students had the chance to hear from them about their journey in building a values-driven business from scratch, the challenges they have faced and importance of ethical decision-making, and how they integrate respect, inclusivity, and sustainability into their operations.

The visit allowed students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications, reinforcing the role of ethical entrepreneurship in shaping positive business practices. This hands-on experience was invaluable in deepening their understanding of ethical business frameworks and inspiring them to apply these principles in their own entrepreneurial projects.
