Kyabram P-12 College Resource Library
WELCOME 2025!
The College Resource Library would like to welcome back staff, students and the school community for another great year! We all hope you had an enjoyable break and a happy start to the new school year. The Library Team has been hard at work over the holidays, planning and preparing an exciting term of displays, events, activities, clubs, and so much more.
Our library is here to support the academic and creative development of every individual, whether you're a student, parent, or staff member. With a continually growing selection of books, research resources, online databases, eBooks, and modern collaborative spaces, the library serves as a hub for learning and exploration within our school community.
The college library team is always here to assist you, whether you have a question, need help finding resources, or just want to explore new ideas. We’re committed to fostering a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for everyone.
This year, we’re buzzing with exciting new programs, library features, and activities for the term ahead, so be sure to check out our media and newsletters to stay up to date.
We’re excited to continue this journey together in 2025.
The College Library Team: Jen, Meg & Karen.
LIBRARY BORROWING
Library bags
A friendly reminder to all parents, caregivers, and students. Please organise a library bag for your child. This is encouraged for all Primary students to ensure all library books are safe when they go home.If you need assistance with this, the college library is here to help. Library staff can provide your child with their own library bag. Please contact the college office or call in and talk to our librarians.
P-2 Library Orientation
Over the last week, the college library has welcomed some of our young readers to borrowing. During this time, students had a whole session of library orientation to learn about the college library or refresh themselves with the space. All P-2 students were given a ‘trial’ library book to take home and return the following week (on library day). This book acts as their first book of the year, while it also acts as a welcome booklet for families. Library staff hope this provides parents/carers with basic information about our library.
2025 PROGRAMS
The Library at Lunchtime
The College Resource Library will be open at lunchtime during Term 1 (starting week 3). Lunchtime clubs are back for 2025, with Creators Club on Wednesdays, Comic Club on Fridays, and a new Makerspace Club on Mondays. We can’t wait to see staff and students enjoying the library at lunchtime soon.
CELEBRATE LIBRARY LOVERS’ DAY – FEBRUARY 14TH!
This February 14th, join us in celebrating Library Lovers’ Day in our library! It's the perfect opportunity to show some love for the space where imagination, learning, and adventure come alive. Whether you’re an avid reader or just starting your library journey, we have exciting activities planned for you.
You can write a heartfelt "Love Letter to the Library," sharing what you love most about our library and how it has inspired your learning. Also, get ready for our Blind Date with a Book – pick a wrapped book from the special display and discover a surprise read!
Many thanks,
The Library Team: Jen, Karen, Meg.
