School Philosophy

From the Principal

Hi everyone!

Once again we have had a busy few weeks here at OGPS. Our Foundation students are now here full time and enjoying exploring what school is all about. Our buddy lunches and activities mean that all students are making connections with other classes and our student leaders have run their first assembly. 

We have had our parent information sessions this week and have been very pleased with the parent engagement at these sessions. We have condensed each year level sessions into 3 across the school and have interpreters attending these sessions. Camp and sport parent information sessions will be held closer to these events so that we can keep information relevant and at front of mind. We hope that these changes have been beneficial and welcome any feedback about these changes.

Thank you to Mr Liston for his work in creating and escorting the OGPS swim team to the District event yesterday. We came fourth overall with everyone enjoying the day. We have also had Kelly Sports Clinics here over the past two days, so don't forget to ask your children about their session.

Our school tours for 2026 are up and running, with bookings made via the school website. If you know of anyone looking at schools for 2026 please encourage them to book a tour. Tours run every week, alternating between a Tuesday at 9.15am and Thursday at 2.30pm.

I have also sent a Compass notification about school council elections, so please make sure to have a read and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask in person (I can be found most mornings and afternoons on the basketball courts) or via email or phone.
