Harmony Week

HARMONY WEEK is Monday March 17th – Sunday March 23rd.
What is Harmony Week?
Harmony Week is about celebrating Australia’s amazing cultural diversity. During this week, we celebrate inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for all Australians, from the traditional custodians of the land to those who have come from many countries around the world.
The motto of Harmony Week is “Everyone Belongs”
On Harmony Day - Friday March 21st we are encouraging all staff, students and families to wear orange.
Why orange?
Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Week. The orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect. By wearing something orange on Friday 21st March we can show our support for cultural diversity and an inclusive Australia.
If it’s not a colour well represented in your wardrobes, try ribbons, nail polish, a piece of orange paper around your wrist !
