U15s Shine at Western Schools Touch Finals –

Mudgee 2025 Our U15 boys and girls touch football teams showcased skill, determination, and teamwork at the Western Schools Touch Finals in Mudgee, finishing 2nd in their pools against some tough competition.

The boys had a challenging start against a well-drilled Mudgee side, going down 1-6 despite a strong defensive effort and a late try from Tarell. However, they bounced back in style, dominating their next game with a 10-2 victory over the Trial Team. Phoenix (3), Blake, Mason H, Billy (3), Beau, and Seb all crossed the line in a fantastic attacking display. In their final game, the boys delivered a touch football masterclass, defeating Forbes 7-2. Phoenix (5) and Blake (2) led the charge, capitalising on hard drives through the middle to create space and execute well-structured team plays. This strong finish sets them up well for Dubbo later this year.

The girls started their campaign with an impressive 6-0 win over Narromine, with Kirsten (3), Em, Amali, and Lara all scoring. Their quick drives through the middle and strong teamwork set the tone for the day. The second match was a tough challenge against a well-drilled Canobolas High team, but the girls showed great resilience in the hot conditions, working hard to build their skills and teamwork. Regrouping for their third game, the girls secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Gilgandra, with BB and Lara scoring in a strong defensive and attacking performance. They finished the day on a high, producing an excellent 5-1 win over Parkes. Lara (2), Kirsten (2), and BB all crossed the line, while younger players Amali, Annie, Lisa, and Jaycee stepped up, showcasing the depth and promise of the team.

A huge thank you to Jordan, Tristen, and Tamsyn for their support as referees and coaches throughout the day. Thanks to Mr. Corcoran, Ms. Bromfield, and Mrs. Cosgrove for their dedication in coaching and mentoring both teams. Both teams displayed incredible sportsmanship, skill, and teamwork, and we look forward to their continued success at upcoming competitions!
