Meet Our Staff

Our staff at Birranga College are the very heart of everything we do at the college. From teaching and learning to wellbeing and admin support services, every member of our team contributes to creating a safe, welcoming and engaging environment for our students and community.
Pravi Chandra
Mr Chandra is our Digital Technology and Challenge & Enrichment teacher. He loves the diversity of Birranga College and enjoys celebrating the success of every student while learning from them along the way. Inspired by his wife, who is also a teacher, his goal this year is to know learn every student's name and at least one of their hobbies. Outside of the classroom Mr Chandra enjoys coaching soccer, playing games on his PS5, supporting Manchester United, Melbourne Victory and North Melbourne. He dreams of a family trip to the crystal-clear waters of Bora Bora.
Suzie Barata
Suzie Barata is one of our dedicated Learning Support Officers and works in reception 2 days a week. She loves seeing our Birranga student's unique personalities shine and finds the greatest joy in watching them smile and enjoy themselves. Inspired by helping young people grow and learn, her goal this year is to get to know every student's name. Outside of school, you'll find her completing jigsaw puzzles, walking her dog Nova, cheering on the Hawthorn Football Club, and dreaming of one day visiting Niagara Falls.

Miss Kumaran is part of our Math team this year at Birranga College. She is very passionate about helping students connect Mathematics to the real world and loves seeing them grow in confidence, both academically and personally. Miss Kumaran's favourite movie is Finding Nemo. On the weekend and holidays, she enjoys solving Wordle and Sudoku puzzles. Miss Kumaran is currently learning Japanese through Duolingo and hopes to one day visit Japan.
