Discover Our Library

Last term, we were delighted to welcome Connected Libraries, who introduced our Year 7 students to the fantastic public library services available in our local community. Students learned how to join their local library, borrow books, access digital resources and discover all the wonderful opportunities waiting to be discovered. We encourage all families to take advantage of this incredible free community resource.
Our Wednesday lunchtime Book Club continues to grow, with more students joining each week to chat about books, recommend new reads and enjoy a relaxed lunchtime together. It's wonderful to see such enthusiasm for reading!
Wednesday afternoons have also become a hive of activity, with Homework Help proving to be a popular space for students to read, study or simply enjoy a quiet place to work after school.
The library collection is growing too! We recently celebrated reaching more than 1,000 books on our shelves, with new titles arriving regularly in response to student requests. It's fantastic to see our students borrowing so enthusiastically and helping shape a collection that reflects their interests.
This term we're excited to launch our new Yearbook Committee. This after-school program will give students the opportunity to work as writers, photographers, designers and editors to create Birranga College's very first yearbook. This will be a lasting record of our foundation year and the memories we've made together.
As always, the library is open every Wednesday and Thursday at recess and lunchtime, and we look forward to another great term of reading, learning and creativity in the Birranga College Library.
