Dear Parents,
As we approach the end of the year, it’s hard to believe how quickly this year has flown. 2025 has been a year with much to celebrate; a year full of growth, learning, and memorable moments for our school community
I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our dedicated staff. Your commitment and passion make such a difference every day, and I am proud of the work we have achieved together.
A big thank you also goes to our strong and supportive parent community. Your involvement and partnership are invaluable in creating a positive and nurturing environment for our students.
As we say goodbye to this year, we also farewell several families whose youngest children are moving on to high school next year. We thank you for being such an important part of our community and wish you all the very best in the next chapter.
We also sadly farewell some of our valued staff members: Judy Issa, Anthea Bourne, Lizzy Dowler and Graeme Summerson. Each has brought something distinct, irreplaceable, and deeply valued. On behalf of all of us, I thank them for their commitment, their passion, and their heart. We will miss them, but are excited for the opportunities that await them.
I would also like to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey of our Year 6 students. When we look at them now, we don’t just see students; we see growth, achievements, and countless memories created along the way.
Throughout their time here, they have faced challenges, discovered new strengths, and supported one another. They have learned so much more than academics; they have learned about kindness, resilience, and the importance of community.
Looking to the future, we see a generation full of promise and opportunity. Their potential is clear, and the possibilities ahead are endless. This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, and we are eager to see where their journeys will take them.
We will genuinely miss our Year 6 cohort, but we are confident they are ready to embrace what lies ahead with courage and enthusiasm.
Congratulations to all our Year 6 students on reaching this important milestone; we are incredibly proud of you and excited to see all that you will achieve in the years to come.
May you all have a beautiful Christmas and a safe and restful break. We look forward to seeing you all again 2026, refreshed and excited for another wonderful year ahead.

Term 4 Green Award Winners
Congratulations to our Term 4 Green Award winners! These students received the most Green Awards in their class this term for consistently demonstrating safe, respectful and responsible behaviour across all areas of school life. To celebrate, they enjoyed a special pizza luncheon yesterday. We are so proud of their efforts and the positive example they set for others at BPS.

Canteen Artwork Project!
We’re thrilled to share an exciting update on our upcoming Canteen Artwork Project! Bathurst Public School has partnered with talented local artist Calum to transform the canteen area into a vibrant and inspiring space that reflects the heart of our school community.
Calum, whose work can be seen in several stunning local installations (see examples below), will begin creating the mural in late December. His design will celebrate the creativity, diversity, and spirit of Bathurst Public School — a lasting legacy for our students, families, and staff to enjoy for years to come.
The project is a joint initiative between the P&C and the school, who have together committed the majority of the funding required. To bring this vision fully to life, we’re now inviting our school community to help raise the final $10,000 needed to complete the project. Every contribution, big or small, helps us achieve this incredible goal.
If you’d like to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to leave your mark on our school, donations can be made via:

BSB: 082441
ACC: 425386324
(Please include your name so it can be added to the artwork’s donor list.)
We can’t wait to see Calum’s creativity in action and share the finished masterpiece with our whole school community early next year!
