Lunchtime offered students the opportunity to take part in Humanities games, student debates and even watch Disney classics based on Ancient Civilisations.

Congratulations to all students who have participated in Humanities Week by attending activities or completing quizzes. Well done!

Ballroom Dancing Incursion - 11 October

The Year 9 students were very lucky to have Emilio from Ela Rose Studios come to Killester and teach us Ballroom dancing which ties into our Year 9 English unit - the film "Strictly Ballroom".

We all had so much fun and learnt something interesting. It was an excellent opportunity for us to experience a new skill and appreciate the art of ballroom dancing. We all had a chance to work with different people in our year level and at the end of the lesson we were given an insight into the 'Pasodoble' which is featured in the film.

Student reflection:

Some ambitious Year 10 students were given the opportunity to attend the Dandenong Civics Centre Year 10 Careers Breakfast. We were able to make new connections and explore potential career paths that we were interested in. We had a splendid time and were able to speak to many insightful people from a range of different careers, in addition to a delicious breakfast. We gained valuable knowledge in the fields we were interested in, including advice on how we should approach the idea of a career.

Our group is very grateful for this opportunity and had such a wonderful day!

A Day In Her Boots - 24 October

Last week, five Year 10 students went to Fulton Hogan to participate in 'a Day In Her Boots'.

The day provided an overview of what a career in infrastructure could look like for female students and created awareness about the infrastructure industry, and provided them with an overview of both blue and white-collar roles in an interactive environment that showcases the wide variety of careers and career pathways.
