2024 Staffing

As we approach the mid-point of term 4, we have been working hard at SKiPPS to plan ahead for next year. We are currently working on 2024 class lists to try and ensure we get the right balance for our groups next year.

This work has also involved appointing new teachers to ensure that our staffing balance is also perfect and we have the best team to work with your children next year.

Below are details of four new teachers who will be joining the SKiPPS team next year - they have each written a few sentences to introduce themselves and we will look forward to getting to know them better in 2024!

Roy Lee - Class Teacher

Hello St. Kilda Park Primary School Community,

My name is Roy Lee, and I am thrilled to be joining the school as a teacher in 2024.

I am early in my teaching career, having graduated in mid-2023, but have certainly become familiar to the primary classroom with a few years behind me in an education support role (including at SKiPPS in early 2023).

I have lived in multiple cities in Australia, and travelled to many parts of the world, including extended stints in Hungary, and parts of Northern Europe. I now call Melbourne home with my wife and two cats. I enjoy playing social team sports, cooking, camping and exploring new places.

As a teacher, I am passionate about bringing all learning areas together to create authentic experiences for students. I am also very focused on fostering individual and community wellbeing through open and reflective activities and discussions. I look forward to working with the leadership group, teachers and support staff in 2024! If you see me in the school yard at drop-off or pick-up times, feel free to say hello!

Emily Deague-Hall - Class Teacher

Hi, I'm Emily. I live locally in St Kilda, and have been teaching Year 2 at Balwyn North Primary School. I can't wait to meet the SKiPPS community and to start working with you all.

Joe Masci - Italian Specialist Teacher

Hi SKiPPS! Joe here, or some of you might even remember me as ‘Peppi’ (although that was quite a while ago!) Sono molto felice di ritornare alla questa scuola magnifica - I’m very happy to be returning to this wonderful school!

I’ve been working as a classroom teacher since I was last here and have even travelled across the country and back again! Italy and Italiano have always stayed close to my heart and I cannot wait to be back in the Italian teacher role at SKiPPS! A presto!

Alex Paz - Performing Arts Specialist Teacher

I grew up in regional Victoria and have lived most of my adult life in Melbourne. I have previously taught at a number of schools as a classroom teacher, in inquiry-learning and in holistic Steiner education based on the principles of teaching the “head, heart and hands” and teaching through story. I am very excited to be teaching performing arts at SKiPPS next year!

My passion for “education as medicine” (to facilitate the child to develop in a balanced way) along with my love for stories and cultures of the world, mean that performing arts in 2024 will be a great adventure into story, history, cultural richness, and an inspired connection with the arts.
