A message from the Principal

Celebration of the Arts!

Last Thursday saw our school come together to enjoy 'Luminoso' - this year's Celebration of the Arts evening.

As always, the night demonstrated the very best of St Kilda Park.

The student music and dance performances were fantastic - a demonstration of talent, creativity and courage and the hard work that classes have put in with Michael during their Performing Arts sessions was clear to see.

The Arts show was a really imaginative way to share and stage the amazing projects that have been completed in Visual Arts this year. All linked to the theme of light, the show was a magical, glowing experience that showcased the persistence and creativity of all of our students.

Beyond the arts on display, the night was a also a great community celebration. The food stalls and the chances for social connections were great and showed our brilliant and dedicated parent community.

Each year I am so proud of what we create at COTA. The way it is inclusive of all students and showcases the creative and artistic endeavours of every single student. The way it builds over months and slowly takes over the whole-school for a glorious night.

It is not a school play that allows a handful of students to audition and feel involved, or that focuses on the students in a particular year.

The broad and ambitious nature of the event is wonderful and I need to thank our students for their hard work and enthusiasm in creating and performing so well. I also want to thank all of the families who found a free evening to attend and supported by finding costumes and getting fully involved with the spirit of the night.

There are a lot of other thank-yous to make and these can be found later in the newsletter.
