‘Dia de los Muertos’ and sign-up for study!

There was no need to be scared away by the multitude of skulls grinning at you on entry to the Senior library this week. With the Feast of All Saints and All Souls, and of course Halloween, library lessons have been an opportunity to explore some of the customs and traditions that are observed at this time of year.

Classes from Year 7-10 were able to dig into the visual display, unearthing what ‘Dia de los Muertos’ is all about. By answering 10 trivia questions students are in the draw to win a $25 canteen voucher.

With Year 10 examinations this week and Years 7 - 9 examinations being held in Week 5, the library spaces are in demand for exam study. A student-led initiative ensures that every student has the opportunity for quiet study at lunch time by simply signing-in.

This immersive overseas experience in a native-speaking community promises students a dynamic environment for language acquisition along with fostering linguistic proficiency beyond conventional classroom boundaries. Additionally, it offers an enriching cultural immersion that nurtures students' confidence and deepens their connection with the language and culture.

Parents and students enrolled in the 2024 French Elective classes are invited to join us for the New Caledonia 2024 information evening at the Sarto Centre, on Wednesday 8 November starting at 6:00 pm.
