I Am Mindful - 5/6 sessions

 

When we’re extremely distressed we just want our pain to go away and if we don’t know how to cope skilfully in those moments we can be tempted to cope in unhealthy ways that are problematic for us - that damage our relationships, make the situation worse and aren’t in line with our long term goals and values.

 

"I Am Mindful", have taught our year 5/6s proactive mental health coping strategies to help them learn how to best support themselves skilfully.  

 

We enjoyed two morning sessions with the I.A.M. team to learn all about how we can best support ourselves using the fabulous toolkits provided for our students for free!

 

We all know how hard it can be to struggle and that mental health isn’t linear. There can be good and bad days. We believe though that if you have the tools to know how to deal with the bad days then life can start to feel a little more manageable.

 

I.A.M. is a team made up of Positive Psychology Practitioners, Registered Psychologists, Psychiatric nurses, occupational therapists and young people passionate about mental health.

 

 I Am Mindful is not suggested as a substitute for mental health support, rather it is an additional tool for stress support.
