Performing Arts

Shining Stars

Term 3 saw our students perform at the Shining Stars Showcase at the Campbelltown Arts Centre. Shining Stars is a creative arts program for students with a disability in K-12. During the program, students participated in workshops in selected artforms. This year we had 5 students participate in dance, 5 students participate in music (percussion) and 4 students participate in art. The showcase of their skills was a huge success. Thank you to the parents who came to watch the showcase and the staff (in particular Ms Pinder, Ms Samuels, Ms Au and Mr Roberts) who assisted the students in this wonderful program.

State Dance Festival

Our Shining Stars Dance Ensemble were lucky enough to be selected for the State Dance Festival. The State Dance Festival is a showcase of choreographed dance works from public schools across NSW. It was held at the Seymour Centre during week 9. Our ensemble was based on the theme of ‘spring cleaning’ and was to the Bobby Brown track ‘I Feel Good’. It comprised of students from Ashcroft Public School, Middleton Grange Public School, Cartwright Public School, Cecil Hills High School and Prairiewood High School. Not only has this program enhanced the performance skills of our students, it has allowed the students and staff across the schools to form positive friendships and connections. Thank you to Ms Pinder and Mr Roberts for your incredible support.
