Book Week!

We celebrated Book Week earlier this term. This year's theme was 'Read, Grow, Inspire.'

Book Week is such an important and exciting time for us in the library as we get to celebrate the love of books in so many different ways. This year we held our usual dress up competition. Take a look at some of our staff and students dressed up for the event:

Students also had the opportunity to win prizes by participating in the following competitions:

Find the Golden Ticket competition in which students were challenged to locate one of five strategically hidden golden tickets. Here are our winners, Rihanna, Jeremy, Avni, Lucia and Armani posing with their tickets and prizes below:

Our Poster Competition involved challenging students to create a poster that describes an individual who is inspirational. Our winners, Armani, Shelly and Rania below:

We also invited classes to visit the library to engage in some Book Week activities and challenges. Our students had a great time celebrating:

Library Monitors

Our Library Monitors take pride in ensuring our library staff are assisted with the many jobs that are involved in the smooth running of our library. Each Library Monitor assists by performing tasks such as scanning loans and returns, returning books to the shelves and helping students with their printing if they ask for assistance. They also help to keep our library a clean and tidy space for staff and students.

Library Art Competition

One of our most challenging competitions this term was our Library Art Competition. We invited students to design and paint a book cover on canvas. Students were supplied with a canvas, paint colours of their choice and paint brushes to undertake their art works.

We were amazed and so impressed with the talent and creativity of our students! 13 students and our Library assistant submitted their works, which are proudly displayed in our school library.

Check out their creations below:
