Celebrating Our Champions

Maisie G (Year 5)

Maisie’s goal this year was “to raise awareness for everyone who ‘looks normal’ but may not be able to do everything you do without lots of physio and support.” She set out to raise money and awareness for the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre, by seeking sponsors and training for the Melbourne Marathon. Maisie succeeded and reached her goal, completing the 3km course and raising more than her target of $1000!! The money Maisie raised was used to purchase a corner chair worth just under $1500 which will be lent out to families in need. Not only did Maisie display the qualities of a true champion but she had amazing support from wonderful friends and family, including Milla S (Year 5) who also trained so that she could support Maisie in her run.

What a magnificent achievement Maisie!

Jordan M (Year 6)

Jordan recently represented our school in the Eastern Region Athletic Championships, competing in the 12 Year Boys Relay team, the 1500m and the long jump.

Jordan put in a champion effort, not only on the day but during the many training sessions prior to the day and over the years. He ended up coming third in the long jump and being presented with the bronze medal. A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS Jordan!

Jasmin K (Year 5)

Jasmin also represented Rowville Primary School in the Eastern Region Athletic Championships, competing in the 10 Year Girls Relay team, and the 100m and 200m sprints. She ran at lightening speed in all three events and ended up winning the bronze medal in the 200m and was the gold medallist and Region Champion in the 100m. WOW!

Jasmin is also a talented basketballer who recently tried out for the Under 12s Dandenong Rangers Representative Team, alongside over 130 other girls.  After four try-out sessions Jasmin was selected in the 12-1s, the top team, and is now training hard with her team to qualify for the top Victorian Championship Division.

Congratulations Jasmin on your outstanding achievements in both basketball and athletics!

Eva K (Year 6)

Eva has been a great advocate and leader in Girls Soccer at Rowville Primary School, leading our team this year at both District and Division levels, in becoming District Champions and the Division Runners Up.

After a rigorous trial process, Eva was chosen in the Under 12 Girls School Sport Victoria 2023 State Squad, and then the Number One Team! Eva spent many afternoons and nights after school training with her team in preparation for the National Championships, which were held in mid-October at the State Football Centre and Home of the Matildas. Eva, with her Victorian team, gave 100%, contested hard and did our School and State proud!

Well done Eva on all your amazing individual and team achievements and on your teamwork, support of others and your leadership! A true champion!
