Foundation

This term our Foundation learners are looking at fairy tales for our narrative writing. We have been learning to use adjectives to describe our characters in our story. 

We have also been getting creative with our design unit, making designs out of craft, natural and construction materials. 

We’ve been looking at sharing into equal groups in math, providing learners with lots of opportunities to use concrete materials to demonstrate and build their understanding. 

Year 4

The Year 4’s have dived straight back into Term 4 starting with a huge first week back at the pool. The children all had a great time and learnt lots of new skills from their swimming teachers who have enjoyed watching them develop as the years have progressed.  As swimming is all done and dusted we are now back into things in the classroom exploring design as we take a look back at the first car designs in Inquiry and how these have changed across the decades. The students are also really enjoying writing informational texts about their favourite animals and sports in Writing and Mathematics has got their brains buzzing this term with some fun fractions activities.  We have really enjoyed seeing lots of ah-ha moments across all three classrooms as we head into our favourite term of learning for the year.
