Swimming Program 2023

The weather is warming up and it is coming to the time of year when we head to a beach or pool to cool off and have some fun. In Victoria, water safety is a key part of the Physical and Health Education curriculum. To address this part of the curriculum, we provide a school swimming program each year. The school swimming and water safety program is fun, interactive and inclusive. This program ensures that students are inspired to be competent swimmers and develop essential lifelong skills to be safe in, on and around water.

Participating in this program not only skills students up around water, but also supports them to build their resilience and independence. Students walk to and from the pool over the week and learn to organise their belongings, change independently and build their stamina in the water. This is a part of the curriculum and all students are expected to participate to ensure they continue to flourish and grow in their physical health and emotional well-being.

Our swimming and water safety program runs from Nov 27th to Dec 1st and will conclude with our beach days later in the term.
