District Athletics

As mentioned in the newsletter two weeks ago the district athletics carnival was held on Friday 22nd August. We had 34 students attend, participating in a wide range of athletics events, including running, jumping and throwing events. Our students performed extremely well and when they returned we saw a rainbow of achievement ribbons. This included fifteen 1st place ribbons, eight 2nd place ribbons and seven 3rd place ribbons - wow what an effort!  These ribbons were for a combination of individual achievements as well as for some of our relay teams. Due to our outstanding performance we now have seventeen students who have qualified for the divisional athletics carnival which is taking place next Wednesday, 10th September.

There were some remarkable individual achievements, including Kelly who achieved four 1st place ribbons, as seen below.

Congratulations to all the students who participated and represented Albion North with pride. Also a big thank you to Mr Murdoch, Mr Fairhead and Ms Bree who attended with the students and ensured everything was well planned and coordinated. We look forward to hearing how our divisional representatives perform next week.

Glasses for Kids

The Glasses for Kids staff, including trained optometrists, will be visiting our school on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th October to conduct initial vision screening of students from Foundation to Year 3 who have completed the consent form and questionnaire, either online or in paper format.

A reminder that registrations close on Friday 12th September (two weeks away). The initiative is free for students to participate in, as long as consent is provided, therefore it is highly encouraged if there are any possible concerns regarding student vision.

If further information is required please refer to the information below or contact the school. Paper copies of the consent form and information brochure are available at the office if preferred.
