Student Leadership Applications and Training

Our student leadership applications opened last week and training started this week. Please encourage your young men to apply and further build their leadership capacity at SVC.

Our student leadership training commences this week. These sessions will be run by members of our staff to build capacity and share their experience within the space of leadership. These sessions will occur each Monday and Wednesday. Please reach out to your PC teacher for further details.

We encourage all students to apply and build their capacity in leadership at the Senior School.

Parents and Friends Association – Parent Education Sessions

With the success of our Wellbeing Program, Pulse Data Collection, External Presenters and overarching mental health organisation, SVC is wanting to further this community connection by offering Parent Sessions on relevant Wellbeing Topics.

Our Welfare Team will be attending relevant P & F meetings to identify areas of Wellbeing and Welfare to better support our parents/carers and in turn, students.

Pulse – Wellbeing Application

Our SVC students continue to embrace and engage with our Mental Health and Wellbeing Application – Pulse.

The College has used the collated data of our students in areas such as Valued and Safe, Healthy, Material Basics, Learning, Participation and Positive sense of identity and culture.

Within these areas, the Welfare team was able to identify that the Material Basics of our students, especially the consumption of breakfast, lunch and dinner, was an area of improvement for us.

We were able to build resources to further support our students. We were able to seek professional assistance and guidance from Dannielle Hibberd, a dietitian and sports scientist who works with major sporting teams in Tasmania (Hobart Hurricanes), to present to our students about Healthy Eating Habits and Body Wellness.

The College continues to identify areas of growth within our students’ wellbeing and mental health and will enact responses and programs to support our students at St Virgil’s College and into the future.
