SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB ORDERS – ISSUE 5
Issue 5 Book Club orders were sent out last Friday. The Book Fair replaced Issue 6 and the next catalogue; Issue 7 will be at the beginning of Term 4. We had another great response to this issue, thank you for your support.

The Big Book Party – Saturday 30th August – 3- 4.30pm
The Kids' Bookshop presents four beloved kids' book creators for an afternoon of stories and fun. Join award-winning creators George Ivanoff, Judith Rossell, Lucinda Gifford and Amelia Mellor as they take you through their books with glimpses into their creative processes and stories behind the stories. This session is best suited to children 6-12.

ABC Radio National Top 100 Books of the 21st Century list
ABC Radio National has launched the Top 100 Books of the 21st Century project, inviting people around Australia to vote for their favourite books published between January 1, 2000, and August 31, 2025, across all genres.Voting begins September 1st and closes October 2nd, and they will then count them down over a big weekend broadcast on October 18th and 19th.
This year, the theme is The Top 100 Books of the 21 Century (so far!) across fiction and nonfiction.

LPPS BOOK WEEK 2025 CELEBRATIONS!
MONDAY 18TH – FRIDAY 22ND AUGUST
What an incredible week we’ve had celebrating Book Week 2025 with the theme “Book an Adventure”! We certainly packed in lots of adventures!
Scholastic Book Fair – thank you for making the Book Fair such a success! Running from Monday through Thursday, we had a fantastic response. Your support plays a vital role in helping us grow our library collection, giving students access to new and diverse resources. I hope you are all enjoying your new books!
Thursday’s Book Character Dress Up Parade was a huge hit; the creativity was amazing. It was so fun seeing everyone bring their favourite characters to life! A big thank you to the LPPS staff, families, and everyone who helped with costumes to make it such a memorable day.
Well done to all students who participated in the LPPS Creative Writing Competition. The judges were super impressed by the creativity and imagination in this year’s entries. Keep writing - we’re looking forward to even more amazing entries next year!

CARP Productions visited Foundation, Grade 1 and Grade 2s on Friday with a production that brought all the 2025 Book Week books to life. After the show, I had many students across the year levels come up to say how much they loved it—especially how funny it was.
Finally, I would like to say a big thank you to our Library Captains Mason and Emily and Leaders Shanaye, Cooper, Hudson and Tilly who all did an amazing job helping throughout the week, even coming in early and staying late to help with the Book Fair and Book Parade.
