We are thrilled to announce that the following students will be moving on to EMC to compete in their talent show this October:
Only three acts were able to progress, making the selection a very difficult decision. Each student who participated gave an outstanding performance, and we are incredibly proud of their hard work, creativity, and dedication.
Congratulations to everyone who made it into the LPPS finale – what a remarkable achievement! We can’t wait to see our talented students shine on the EMC stage.

What a fantastic week we had at LPPS celebrating Book Week! The school was filled with so many colorful and creative costumes, bringing storybook characters to life. We spotted familiar faces such as Wally from Where’s Wally?, Harry Potter, Bugs Bunny, the Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, and so many more—too many to name!
The parade in our gym was absolutely jam-packed with students, families, and friends, and it was an absolute delight to see so many members of our school community come together. Moments like these truly highlight the LPPS spirit, where everyone celebrates learning, creativity, and the joy of reading.
It was inspiring to see the level of community engagement—parents, carers, and friends joining in, cheering, and supporting our students. The children were buzzing with excitement all day, and there were smiles everywhere! The joy, laughter, and enthusiasm made Book Week an unforgettable experience for everyone, reflecting just how vibrant and connected our school community is.
Our Library was also bustling with students and families exploring and purchasing books for their home reading. Organised by Mrs. K, our amazing librarian, and provided by Scholastic, the Book Fair was a huge success — with some titles even selling out on the very first day!
A big thank you to Mrs. K for organising such a memorable and exciting Book Week at LPPS!
Last week, our Prep, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students set sail on a magical adventure with Pirate Puffy Pants as part of our 2025 Book Week celebrations.
The children joined in the fun and “Booked an Adventure” as this year’s shortlisted Book Week stories were brought to life. Laughter, excitement, and plenty of pirate mischief filled the gym as Pirate Puffy Pants led the way through a world of reading, discovery, and imagination.
Book Week at LPPS is always a special time – and this year was no exception.
A huge thank you to Mrs K for creating such a wonderful experience, and to our students for diving into the adventure with such enthusiasm and joy!
This week, our Grade 1 students have been taking part in their swimming program at King Swim, Langwarrin.
The program focuses on building water confidence, developing stroke techniques, and reinforcing vital water safety skills. Students have been enjoying the sessions, showing great enthusiasm and determination in the pool.
A big thank you to the instructors at King Swim and our staff for supporting this important part of our PE program.
Well, that is Year 5 Sovereign Hill Camp done and ‘gold’ dusted for another year! The students really stepped up and represented our school extremely well across all locations that we visited. This would not have been possible without the amazing team of Deb, Richard, Alannah, Kellie, Naomi and Katy (parent helper) always consistently ensuring our students were on their best.
But don’t take it from me, here are the reviews given by Sovereign Hill:
From the Educational Session: The teacher said that they were a great group of students, and it was really nice having them as part of the sessions.
From a Shop Keeper: Your students were lovely, used their manners and were respectful.
From the Dining Hall: Your students have been great, followed what we needed them to do which helped us at the end of mealtimes.
From the Gold Pour demonstration: They were really great, a nice bunch of kids.
Grade 4 Camp – Exploring Melbourne City!
This week, the Grade 4 students attended camp in our great city of Melbourne!
The camp was a memorable and engaging experience, giving students the chance to immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere of Melbourne city. Over three days, they explored some of the city’s most iconic landmarks and attractions, including the MCG, Sea Life Aquarium, Skydeck, ACMI (Australia’s National Museum of Screen Culture), and even enjoyed an exhilarating ice-skating adventure at the O’Brien Icehouse.
A highlight of this year’s camp was a visit to the NGV International (National Gallery of Victoria), where students experienced one of Australia’s most celebrated cultural institutions.
Camps like this are such a valuable part of school life – allowing students to learn beyond the classroom, develop independence, and share unforgettable experiences with their peers. Our Grade 4s returned with plenty of stories, smiles, and wonderful memories of their adventure in the heart of Melbourne.
Hi! We are Josh and Maddy, this year’s SRC leaders. With the help of the Grade 3-5 SRC leaders, we have come up with two events for the remainder of the term that we would love everyone to get involved in!
The first is R U OK? Day which is on the 11th of September. This day encourages open communication and reminds everyone that it's important to support each other. On this day we are raising funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which provides support to children with Cancer. You can wear a hint of yellow and bring a gold coin donation on this day.
The second event is Walk to School Week. This will take place in the last week of Term 3 from the 15th of September to the 19th to celebrate World Car Free Day which falls on the first Monday of the school holidays. We do understand that some students don't live within walking distance from the school, therefore, we are including students that are dropped off at the park and walk from there in the class tally! The winning classes from each year level will receive icy poles next term!!
