At Boroondara Park PS Term 4 is jam packed. We have lots of exciting things happening, including whole school events. Please take the time to read through these dates and add them to the family calendar.
The Whole School Production - The Amazing Adventures of Superstan on Monday November 10th. After feedback from the community we have planned for one performance this year and it is being held at The Round.
Ticket sales will commence next term, in order to give everyone, the opportunity to attend we will limit the number of tickets per family. Keep an eye out for ticket sale information via a COMPASS post.
Ms Zoe and the students are spending lots of time rehearsing and we cannot wait to see the performance.
On Thursday our Year 5/6 play equipment was opened for students to use.
They have excitedly explored the space and enjoyed their first day in the re-opened section of the yard.
The new shade sails will be installed over this equipment in the coming school holiday period.
We are grateful for the support of the Northeast Community Fund who provided a grant to the school for the refurbishment of this playground space.
This week our students, parents and staff took part in an Environmental focused professional learning session.
Our students were able to share their learning and work with Keen Green Team and as members of the Environment Pillar. We were all able to move around 7 stations to learning about our FOGO, media team, riverbed planting crew, stick insects, chickens and eggs, guinea pigs and our School Environmental Management Plan - with support from EASL and Boroondara Council.
It was a great opportunity for all of us to celebrate the focused environmental work at Boroondara Park PS. Well done to Claire Ballot, our amazing team of student leaders and the fantastic parent volunteers who are part of the program.
All parents/carers and guardians will have received an email with a link and PIN to complete the annual Parent/Carer/Guardian survey.
The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.
The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online until Friday 19 September 2025.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Resources are also available in additional languages to assist parents / caregivers / guardians who speak a language other than English at home. Please reach out to the school directly for survey guides in your language.
The Smile Squad team from health Ability are coming to our school soon from October 6th.

Smile Squad oral health packs
All children were sent home with a free oral health pack to bring home. The pack contained a toothbrush, full sized toothpaste, and an oral health brochure. It’s full of helpful hints and tips to help your whole family eat well, drink well and clean well – for life.
Standard strength toothpaste
Smile Squad provides standard strength fluoride toothpaste that is generally used by ages six and over, unless recommended by a dental or trained health professional. If your child is under six, please talk to a dental or trained health professional to find out if your child might benefit from using this toothpaste. You can also choose to put the toothpaste away until they turn six or give it to someone else in your family to use.
Do I need to attend my child’s appointment?
No, you do not need to attend your child’s appointment. You can attend if you would like to, and you can take your child to the community dental clinic if you prefer.
The health Ability Smile Squad look forward to being at Boroondara Park PS next term.

Boroondara Park PS has had an ongoing relationship with the Balwyn Blazers basketball club for many years. They hire our Stadium in the afternoons and evenings throughout the week and all-day Saturday. This provides the school with revenue and enables us to develop an ongoing and supportive relationship with a community organization.
Over the holidays we replaced the lights in the Stadium, they are now LED lights and provide much needed improvement to the facilities. Balwyn Blazers has supported the school by providing half the funds to undertake this lighting upgrade. We want to thank them and celebrate our ongoing relationship with the club.
The Summer 2025 season registrations for basketball have opened. Existing Blazers families can register via their website - www.balwynblazers.com.au
New families can register their expression of interest for try outs.
This week we sent out information relating to an interpreter service you can use when calling the school. There is a simple step by step process to make a call to the school using a telephone interpreter.
Thank you to those parents who have completed the induction and registration so they can volunteer at BPPS in 2025.
A reminder - All volunteers must undertake the induction and register to be involved in school activities.
