Principal's Message

Hi Everyone!
Ski Trip
Last week many of our Grade 5 students headed off to Mt Baw Baw for the annual ski trip. After being cancelled two weeks earlier due to poor snow conditions, Mr Stephens and the Grade 5 team worked tirelessly to reschedule the trip following heavier snowfalls last week. From all reports, students had a fantastic day challenging themselves to learn and refine their skiing skills, building snowmen, and even enjoying a few snowball fights! We sincerely thank Mr Stephens and all staff for their efforts in making sure this memorable experience went ahead for our students.
Year 6 Market Day
Last week, the leadership team met with our Year 6 students to hear their Market Day proposals. Each group prepared a slideshow presentation outlining their business ideas, including marketing strategies, costings to break even or make a profit, and important considerations such as environmental impact and safety. Students also explained how they plan to share profits between school projects and charitable donations. Market Day will be held next Friday, 5th September, and judging by the creativity and enthusiasm shown, it promises to be a fantastic event!
First Aid Training
Over the past two weeks, students from Prep to Year 6 have participated in St John Ambulance first aid training. This program provided age-appropriate lessons on first aid awareness and practical guidance on what to do in an emergency. Our students gained valuable knowledge and confidence that could make a real difference in critical situations.
MEPS Media Night
Don’t forget that next Wednesday evening is our MEPS Media Night, where students will showcase and celebrate all of the fantastic movie-making projects they have been working on in Media Arts. We look forward to seeing many families there to share in this creative celebration.
Father’s Day
This week our wonderful parent volunteers have been busy preparing for the upcoming Father’s Day stall. While Father’s Day is still over a week away, we take this opportunity to wish all dads, grandfathers, carers and positive male role models a very happy day on Sunday 7th September. Father’s Day is a time to recognise and celebrate the special role you play in the lives of our students, and the many ways you support, guide and inspire them. On behalf of our school community, we extend our best wishes and hope you enjoy your special day. A big thank you to our volunteers for giving their time to organise and run the stall for our students.
Have a great week!
The Leadership Team
