SRC and Fight MND

We are excited to announce our upcoming fundraiser in support of Fight MND, a wonderful Australian charity founded by Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher, Pat Cunningham and Dr Ian Davis. We chose this charity, as we wanted to support a very important and well-known Australian charity that always helps people.

Since 2014, Fight MND works tirelessly to raise awareness about Motor Neurone Disease in Australia. Their mission is to not only increase understanding of the disease, but also to fund vital research that will hopefully one day lead to a cure that makes the world free of MND - which is what Neale Daniher and his fantastic family are trying to achieve.

This Friday 29th of August at assembly, 12 brave HPS staff members are stepping up to take part and show their support! They will each be completing the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ and receiving a lovely bucket of freezing iced water poured over them.

Our school has set a goal to raise over $500 for this important cause, and with the help of our community, we know we can achieve it! If you are able to donate, please click on the link below to donate:

Together, we can make a difference and continue to back Neale Daniher’s vision, and at the same time we can have some fun watching our teachers get soaked!

Grade 6 Mentoring

Recently our Grade 6 students assisted and mentored some of our Grade 2 students with the development of their google presentations. The Grade 6 students put their expertise to the test by providing feedback, sharing suggestions, making corrections, asking questions and helping with formatting their presentation. Another key element was showing the Grade 2 students how they can best research and locate a specific image or diagram to enhance their presentation.
