Principal Reflections

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome to Week 4. This term is absolutely flying. We have had another busy week with Brain Olympia, Dubbo Excursion, Dio Athletics and Kinder Orientation - a big thanks to all our wonderful staff for their efforts with organising and supporting these events.

Student Support

At St Ed's, we fairly and consistently respond to each student's emotional and social needs, just as we do to their learning needs. Some students need extra support, while others require it less frequently, and some find school life easy. It is such a great privilege to lead a school where this support is team-focused, with parents, students and staff working together. Together, we ensure that they are up to date with new and innovative ways to support and work with our students, building skills and knowledge in all the important areas. Thank you for your continued support of our wonderful students and school.

Around the Classrooms

During my classroom visits this week, I was super impressed with the work in Year 1. The students were creating a story map of a narrative that they had been reading in class. It was great to hear the students read their work so clearly and confidently. I must say they were clever little sketch artists too.

Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Tomorrow we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption. This is a significant day for Catholics as it commemorates the belief that the Virgin Mary, at the end of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heaven. This feast day is a celebration of Mary's unique role and her place as a model of faith and hope for all. It's an opportunity for our school community to reflect on her life and devotion. Our school will celebrate with Mass at 10.00am at Mary Help of Christians Church. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Assumption of the Blessed Mary Prayer

Father in heaven, all creation rightly gives you praise, for all life

and all holiness comes from you.

In the plan of your wisdom, she who bore the Christ in her womb was raised body

and soul in glory to be with him in heaven.

May we follow her example in reflecting your holiness

and join in her hymn of endless love and praise.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Until next week,

Keep smiling,
