Principal's Update

It has been a short Term 3 but one filled with important events and significant learning opportunities. Student pathways and subject selections for 2026 are close to being finalised, while our Year 12 students are preparing diligently for their upcoming exams. Revision sessions and practice exams will be taking place over the coming weeks. I strongly encourage all students sitting the VCE exams to use the term break wisely—balancing study with quality rest, sleep and nutrition—to ensure they are well prepared for their final assessments.
I would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to Paul Fry and his team for their outstanding achievement in successfully completing the Achievement Program. Lowanna College is proud to be the first Victorian secondary school to meet all seven Health Priority Areas. This milestone is a true reflection of the dedication and commitment of our staff, who continually strive to provide our learning community with opportunities grounded in our values of high expectations and excellence.
Book Week was another highlight of the term, with staff and students enthusiastically celebrating by dressing as their favourite book characters and themes. It was wonderful to see the creativity and joy that this event brought to our classrooms.
Next week promises to be a busy but exciting one, with the Debutante Balls being held across two nights, followed by Parent Student Teacher Interviews on Thursday and Friday. These events are an important part of our school calendar and offer valuable opportunities to connect as a community.
Finally, I would like to thank you once again for your ongoing support of the college and for partnering with us in promoting the wellbeing, teaching and learning of all students. I also invite all parents and carers to share their feedback about the college via our Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey which can be accessed at the following link:

Thank you to the families who have already contributed.
I wish all students and families a safe and restful term break and I look forward to welcoming you back for an exciting and productive Term 4.
Warm regards,
Julia Niamh
