Principal's message

Dr Lisa Vinnicombe

The last few weeks have been incredibly busy with activities and events both on and off campus. The International Women's Day celebrations spread throughout the week and the photos in this newsletter show how much fun the students all had joining in the activities.

We continue to show our pride in being a multicultural school, with an Iftar event enjoyed by our senior students and some of their teachers. In the classrooms, from Food tech to Spanish, the students are exploring a range of ways of learning and working together, and our teachers continue to find ways to provide interesting and challenging tasks.

Students who have received value points have lined up at the Values Shop to choose some rewards for their efforts, while we also joined in the state wide program of NAPLAN testing for stuednts in Years 7 and 9.

JFC continues to develop new and interesting programs, celebrate student achievements, and as always, acknowledge the diversity of our school population. Our school is always seeking challenge and improvement and it is an absolute delight for me to walk into classrooms and see the students so actively engaged.

I hope that some of our parents will join me on Open Day, when along with the assistant principals, we take tours of the school to show our local families what schooling is like at JFC.

Next week, formal classes finish on Wednesday, with Parent/Teacher interviews online from 4.00 - 7.00pm and then onsite on Thursday from 9.00am - 12.30. Students are not required to attend school on Thursday, but are very welcome to come to the interviews with their parents and guardians.

Please enjoy reading the newsletter. Have a wonderful break over Easter and I look forward to seeing you back in term 2 on Tuesday 21st April.

Regards

Dr Lisa Vinnicombe
