Student Leadership Report

Hello again, this is your School Captains' report!
We are going to tell you about some events that have occurred over the last 2 weeks. Unfortunately, Georgia is away today, so she will not be writing. This is our last newsletter for this term.
We also have our last assembly for the term coming up on Thursday next week. We think we all need a break from a long and busy term! Our last assembly is also when we hold our annual Easter Raffle. Make sure to hand in your raffle tickets and donations before Wednesday.
Earlier this week, the Middles went to camp at Camp Burnside in Anglesea, and they had a great time! Mr. Barclay said that all of the students were extremely well-behaved! Great work!
Today was hot dog day! Thank you to our parent volunteers and Ali in the office for organising this. We hope all the hot dogs were delicious!
Last Wednesday, we attended the YLAA Dream and Lead conference.
YLAA stands for Young Leaders Academy Australia. We drove in Mr Barclay's car at 8 am for an hour and ten minutes to the convention center in Melbourne. Which went pretty fast. We played I spy on the way and discovered that Mr Barcley is pretty good. When we arrived, we saw thousands of other young leaders, over 2 thousand of them!
There were lots of speakers talking about leadership and what it means to them. One speaker was a midfielder from the AFLW Essendon football team, Maddy Prespakis, and another was the youngest senator in Australia at 21 years old, Charlotte Walker. We had lunch at the food courts, which was great! After lunch, the hosts, Liam O’Connell and Bonnie Ryan-Rowe, spoke a bit. We had to leave slightly early to get back to school on time. It was great fun and very inspiring, we are glad we went. We now have some ideas to improve our brilliant school.
Thanks for reading, and we hope you have a Happy Holiday and a great Easter!
From Rose, Iris, and Jack. And Georgia too, even though she's not here!
