Wild Ed Year 9 Camp Update
Last week Year 9 students participated in their annual BMGS camp. The weather was exceptional as they headed out onto the Newnes Plateau for 5 days of adventure with their tutor groups. Students were involved in bushwalking into Deep Pass, where they camped overnight and explored the amazing features of the area. They went canyoning in Twister canyon which is full of slides, jumps and swims making it one of the most fun and beautiful canyons in the Blue Mountains, rock climbing at a local crag saw some fears being confronted and new challenges accepted, and for their final day students had a choice of activities with their friends.
I was so proud to see students embracing different challenges and managing themselves, including cooking, looking after their tents, carrying their equipment and supporting each other so well. This is the final “tutor group” camp for these students. I hope they had a great time and learned more about themselves, the environment and other people.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing Year 9 tutors, outdoor guides, Year 12 Leaders and parents for your hard work and support.
