F1 in Schools National Finals Champions

Xpeditious Racing have won the F1 in Schools Australian National Development class finals today and they are absolutely over the moon!

It was a nail biter, after winning only one of the early awards for Best Engineering. However they were consistent to a high standard throughout the entire competition in all the categories.

It is confirmed the team are through to the World Championships later this year. The location overseas is still to be confirmed, but it could be held in Jedda or possibly Singapore.

Ex-student, Nick Hayes has been the teams mentor over the last few months, which have helped the team refine their submissions. Another ex-student Bill Klein also assisted the team.

This is the third World Championship that Blue Mountains Grammar have been in over the last 5 years: Thrust Vector in 2019, Aqueous/Perpetrol in 2022 and now Xpeditious!!

During this week, the F1 in Schools Nationals have been taking place at St. Peter’s College, Adelaide.

Our own Grammar team, Xpeditious have been representing NSW. The team flew out on Sunday morning and have been hard at work during the weeks competition, from setting up their fantastic Trade Display, car scrutineering, verbal presentations & time trial races, to mention a few of the competitions judging criteria. Each of the students have worked extremely well within the team that require precision and innovation.

We would like to thank the school community for all their support, from proofreading folios, milling cars and buying a cup cake.

Thank you also to Miss Coote who accompanied us on the trip to Adelaide.
