KINGS PARK- MEET AND GREET

On Tuesday the sixth of February, Kings Park Campus held its annual Meet and Greet afternoon. This was a fun evening where students and parents were encouraged to meet teachers and leaders from the campus. There were fantastic displays of student work, as well as displays from robotics, music, SRC and art. Thank you to everyone who helped ensure the afternoon was a success.

KINGS PARK FOOD TECHNOLOGY - YEARS 7, 9 & 10

What a great start to the year we have had in Food Tech at Kings Park! Our new Year 7 students arrived super excited and raring to go.

Applying the safety & hygiene procedures learned in class, students from all year levels have been cooking up a multicultural storm of delicious food.

From savoury dishes like Greek spanakopita triangles, Italian foccacia, Japanese pancakes and of course the Aussie meat pie, to sweet dishes like white chocolate & raspberry muffins, English scones, jam biscuits and Greek kourabiethes.

The enticing aroma emitted throughout the school from the kitchen is quickly making room K2 the ‘go to’ place that draws in KP students and staff in search of left overs! Check out the junior Masterchefs honing their craft in the kitchen …

KINGS PARK KITCHEN GARDEN

We have returned to school to find the Kings Park kitchen garden plentiful at the moment, full of an abundance of fresh summer vegetables and herbs. Silverbeet, zucchini, eggplants, pumpkin, cherry tomatoes, capsicum, carrots, corn, string beans, spring onions, parsley – and I’m sure I have forgotten a few! The garden provides opportunities for us to grow and produce healthy food and connect students with healthy meals and lifestyles. We harvest the produce regularly and make every effort to use it in the cooking classes, promoting environmental and sustainability learning in the process.
