Magic and Music

Students have been working on effective listening and maintaining focus this fortnight as we explore ways to make music together. We have had some fun with timing and teamwork playing songs with percussion and experimenting with rounds and harmonising. Magic tricks continue and I hope you are getting some demonstrations at home!

Shrek Jr Production

Rehearsals are helping our songs deepen in texture and timing as groups learn their different parts. Students are getting to see the energy that comes from singing in larger choral groups and I've enjoyed watching the 'sing offs' between 'Jade' and 'Emerald' capably led by Erica, Gavin, Shrek (Reilly), Fiona (Chloe) and Donkey (Giselle). Thanks Caz for coming in to work with the dancers too over the past fortnight. The singing tuition was delayed but will feature in coming wee.

It is really important for students to bring their Shrek 'Show' folders to every rehearsal from now on. These will allow them to have song lyrics and parts in front of them and in time they can note details of stage position, who they are next to and so much more for each scene. Final commitment and payment is now being collected - please refer to compass notification.

Upcoming Rehearsals:

Will continue on Tuesday or Thursday lunchtimes. Details on Theatre board each week.

Thurs 12 + Fri 13 April (end of school holidays) - times to be confirmed

Sat 20 April - Shrek Jr 'Taster' at Warrandyte Festival (11:40am after parade).

Here is the link to the SHREK PRODUCTION FOLDER which includes soundtracks for students to practise at home.
