Middle School             Grades 3 and 4

What is happening in grade 34?

NAPLAN

Next week our grade 3 students will commence the NAPLAN testing period.

Testing days will be as follows:

Wednesday 13th March: Writing

Thursday 14th March: Reading

Monday 18th March: Language

Wednesday 20th March: Numeracy

There will be a catch-up day towards the end of the testing period for any students who had an unavoidable absence on a test day

You can help your child prepare for NAPLAN by reassuring them that the tests are just one part of their school program, and by reminding them on the day to simply try their best.  An early night the night before testing along with healthy breakfasts, lunches and dinners will all support your child to do their best.

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is a literacy and numeracy assessment that students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 sit each year.

In the classroom

Each class has been looking at the different ways NAPLAN questions are asked. We have spent time learning what it is like to work silently for a 40 minute session.

We have also been writing Narratives, measuring, revising place value and comparing different narrative texts that we read.
