Playgroup News

Another great playground! Please read on!

Well Term 1 is definitely moving along fast; we are already in Week 7! We hope you have been enjoying our family tips. Please read on to see this fortnight's family idea.

Each week at Playgroup we like to have a mixture of activities, keeping some the same for consistency and changing a few around. We also like to cover many aspects of development, from cognitive thinking (puzzles and books), fine motor skills (stickers, playdough, drawing, painting) and imaginative play (dolls, shops, and the beloved kitchen), developing age-appropriate social skills as our young people play alongside each other in parallel play, not necessarily with each other. As they get closer to kinder, this play changes to playing together.

This fortnight we brought back the very messy (but enjoyed by all) coloured rice, with pouring and filling of containers. Many pictures have been painted at the easel, as well as lots of fun for the kids - and their adults - in the play kitchen, making sandwiches and cakes.

A Great Playground To Visit - ‘Olinda Playspace’

One of our families visited this park and the kids just loved it! They thought they would just go for a couple of hours but ended up staying all day, there was so much to do! There are playgrounds suitable for younger children and older children.
