Wellbeing & Inclusion Assistant Principal Report
What a wonderful start to the year for all our students. It is so great to see our students returning to school ready to learn and connecting with their friends and staff.
In Wellbeing and Inclusion, we have had a very busy start to the year.
It is important to us that our students are supported to be the best they can be, academically, socially and emotionally.
This year we have more team members working across a range of areas in student support.
We welcome Nikki McCoy and Taj Pentland to our team of learning support officers.
Connection to Country
Year 7 students were fortunate to take part in a special event led by Bunurong Elder and friend to the college, Aunty Sonia Weston.
Aunty Sonia shared with our students her story, and taught our students about the ongoing impact of the Stolen Generations. The anniversary of the National Apology was a fitting opportunity to share stories and teach true history.
Sonia shared artefacts and taught our students about the ongoing connection to Country. We walk together and share a future here on Bunurong country.
We were so fortunate to be presented with a wallaby skin for the girls of year 7, and kangaroo skin for the boys. Aunty Sonia will be working with the cohort to write their stories on the skins to form part of the story of Reconciliation and community here at Lyndale.
Lyndale Secondary College are committed to Reconciliation and after consultation with the community, will be publishing our first Reconciliation Action Plan this term.
We welcome all members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community to reach out and have a yarn with us about our RAP, we are happy to share the draft with Community and act upon feedback to support self-determination in education.
Please contact Michelle Lewis on 9795 2366 should you wish to be involved in a yarning circle.
Congratulations to Anderson Paeaia!
Anderson was recently recognised by being given the title of Siuoti Paeaia. At a special ceremony he was presented with two special artefacts symbolising speaking in to the hearts, and shielding and guiding his community.
We are enormously proud of Anderson and his commitment to all young people and wish to congratulate him on this honour.

Having fun and staying healthy helps with wellbeing!
Swimming sports day is more than just about swimming! It was a fantastic day for students to celebrate each other’s success, and to have a bit of fun demonstrating team pride. The Wellbeing and Inclusion team had a great time bringing some extra colour!
Blue Edge
Our inaugural Blue Edge Program has commenced with 20 amazing year 9 students taking the opportunity to learn and train each week.
Each week students and staff participate in a range of physical training challenges as well as learning about community and leadership.
We look forward to seeing them progress throughout the semester.
