Year 7 Camp

On the 14th of  February 50 year 7's ventured to Lady Northcote Discovery Camp for three action packed days. It was an amazing opportunity for students to build positive relationships with their new peers and gain perspective on their upcoming Secondary school journeys. 

Here is what some of our students who attended the camp had to say:

From February 14th - 16th, the Year 7s had the opportunity to experience an engaging and adventurous camp located at Lady Northcote Discovery Camp!

Throughout the 3 days, the Year 7s at Lyndale Secondary College encountered a variety of new challenges that helped us step out of our comfort zone. Such as Archery (My personal favourite!), Canoeing, The Giant Swing, and the High Ropes, not only were these activities super enjoyable, but they built our teamwork, helped us conquer our fears, and make new friends.

Furthermore, we had a Trivia and Movie night, which was undoubtedly fun! As well as this, we enjoyed every meal with gratification because of the hardwork the chefs have put in. 

Overall, the Year 7s had an unforgettable time that would truly be cherished in our memories forever!

Camp was a very fun and enjoyable experience. It granted us the opportunity to make new relationships, work co-operatively as a team and to take risks. Our activity groups included students from a range of different year seven classes, which enabled us to connect with many different people. We participated in various activities such as, archery, canoeing, giant swing, high ropes / leap of faith, risky kids and frisbee golf. Personally, my favourite activity was the giant swing. Majority of these activities required us to step outside of our comfort zone and to try something new.

I’d like to express my gratitude to the teachers for arranging this camp for us and for dedicating their time to attend the camp with us. Moreover, I would also like to thank the camp staff for accomodating us, and for providing us with delicious meals. All in all, year seven camp was a wonderful experience and I’m sure we’ve all created long-lasting memories of our first high school camp!
