We are thrilled to kick off the new academic year with exciting developments in our languages program! This year, we've expanded our offerings to provide even more enriching experiences for our students.

Year 8 Students Dive into Full-Year Language Learning:

We are delighted to announce that this year, our Year 8 students will be immersing themselves in their chosen language studies for the entire academic year, compared to the previous semester program. This extended duration will allow for deeper learning and proficiency development in their chosen languages.

Introduction of Year 9 Chinese Class:

In an exciting first, we've introduced a Year 9 Chinese class! This addition to the languages program reflects our commitment to broadening language opportunities for our students and embracing diverse linguistic and cultural experiences.

Dedicated Language Classrooms:

Thanks to the support of the school leadership, we now have dedicated language classrooms in B6 and B7. These spaces provide optimal environments for immersive learning and cultural exploration. Our language teachers will be decorating these spaces with posters, students’ work and cultural items throughout the year to provide an authentic and immersive learning experience for our students.

Festive Spirit in Mandarin Classes:

Our Year 8 and 9 Mandarin classes have already infused our language classrooms with the vibrant colours and joy of Chinese culture. Earlier this month, in celebrating the Year of the Dragon, students learned how to write spring couplets with Chinese calligraphy brushes and enthusiastically participated in decorating the rooms with their work, adding a touch of authenticity and creativity to our learning space.
