Year Three Team News
with Katja, Carmel, Rochelle & Mary
We have completed a successful and busy first 4 weeks of Term 1, with our Year 3 Willy Kids, settling into routines, being active learners and showing kindness and gratitude.
Thank you to all parents/carers who attended the Meet the Teacher evening last week. It was wonderful to meet you all and gain some insights about your child.
Congratulations to our successful Year 3 Junior School Council Representatives and to all the students who nominated. We were very impressed with your presentations. What fabulous leaders you are! The following students were voted by their classmates to represent their class:
Beach Safety
3B & 3M had a fabulous day today at the Williamstown Life Saving Club where they learnt some important water safety skills. 3W will get their opportunity next Thursday. (See Compass for details.)
iPads
You will be notified soon when the students will be able to bring along their own iPads to school. Please remember that they will need to be fully charged and be brought into the classroom each morning to be placed in a locked cupboard. At the end of the day, they will be taken home. Refer to the Digital Learning section in the newsletter for information about the required Apps for iPads.
Note: If your child is not bringing an iPad from home, they will use a school iPad when required.
Upcoming Event
We are looking forward to our upcoming Billy Cart incursion for our Inquiry unit. The students will be creating their own billy cart, using a variety of tools and materials, and of course will have the opportunity to race them. This will allow them to explore how things move in an exciting and engaging manner. The Year 3’s will participate in the incursion on Thursday 14th of March. Keep an eye on Compass for when you can consent and make payment.
