Clean Up Australia Day
We take great pride in keeping a clean school at TPS, we also took the opportunity to jump onboard and head out and clean up our community. Both classes headed to the back of the Bowls Club, around Brose Reserve and the back of Anzac Parade. Students and teachers were amazed at how much was found out and about in our community. The objectives of Clean Up Australia Day are not only to physically clean up the environment but also to raise awareness about the importance of reducing litter and waste, promoting recycling, and preserving natural habitats.
Visit from Sam Birrell
This term our 5/6 team have been learning about Democracy in Inquiry, teaching kids about democracy is an important aspect of their civic education. Students have covered a variety of topics including - levels of government, elections and voting, rights and responsibilities, discussion and debate. To coincide with this topic we had a visit from Sam Birrell, where he explained his position and what he does. Sam was asked some tricky and also fantastic questions from our wonderful students.
Have a great weekend! From the 5/6 Team
