John XXIII Rowing Club

Dear Families

The 2024 season is now in full swing, with the boys attending their first water trainings. There has already been great progress made by all rowers as they learn and refine their skills, which is an ongoing process.

It is expected that our routines of getting on and off the water will take a few weeks to refine, and it has been great to see at both the girls’ and boys’ sessions, rowers showing initiative to get the job done. Can I ask that all rowers show that initiative or ask a coach how they can help during the setup and pack up in the mornings, just as when we are in the boat, everything is faster and more efficient when we pull together?

2024 Rowing Club Registrations are now open for Years 9 to 12

It's not too late to join! The John XXIII Rowing Club welcomes existing and new members for our 2024 season.

Please complete the online Registration Form by clicking on the link below:

Those who have not rowed before or would like to be a coxswain and represent the College are encouraged to join.

South West Head of the River: 15 and 16 March 2024

The South West Head of the River is fast approaching! This fun regatta is held at the Bunbury Rowing Club, Cobblestone Drive, Bunbury on Saturday, 16 March.

Rowers and their families traditionally head down on Friday and stay overnight in Bunbury. There are many accommodation options in Bunbury, most families stay at The Lighthouse or the Lord Forrest. If you haven’t made your accommodation arrangements yet, I recommend making them soon. Families from other schools also stay in Bunbury overnight.

In preparation for the Bunbury Regatta, can I ask that all families complete the online form below.  This will greatly assist our coaches in putting together crew entries for the regatta.

Please RSVP by Friday, 1 March, using this link: Bunbury Regatta RSVP form.

Please download the ‘Stack Team App’ on your phone as this is the central place for training schedules, training updates, and access to the rowing handbook to name a few. It is important that all rowers and parents have access.

To get this app go to the App Store or Google Play and download Stack Team App onto your mobile device, then follow these simple steps:

  1.  Sign-up to Stack Team App. You’ll be sent an email to confirm your registration.
  2.  Log-in and search for JTCRC, then request to become a member.

Asthma and Allergies

A reminder that all rowers with asthma or allergies are required to bring their asthma puffers, EpiPens, or required medication to all sessions.
